Zee’s Meenakshi Samantaray Joins Metro Brands As Head- Sports Division Marketing

After being associated with Zee Entertainment Enterprises for close to five years, of which she spent the past one year working as VP- Marketing and Communications, Meenakshi Samantaray has now joined Metro Brands as Head- Sports Division Marketing.

Zee’s Meenakshi Samantaray Joins Metro Brands As Head- Sports Division Marketing

After being associated with Zee Entertainment for close to five years, of which she spent the past one year serving the role of Vice President- Marketing and Communications for Zee Entertainment Enterprises (B2B), Meenakshi Samantaray has now joined Metro Brands as Head- Sports Division Marketing.

She had joined Zee Entertainment Enterprises in August 2019 as a LEAD Marketing and PR at ZEE LIVE and was elevated to the role of Director- Marketing and Public Relations at ZEE LIVE in May 2021.

A year later, in May 2022, she assumed the role of Vice President- Marketing, PR and Partnership at ZEE LIVE and was elevated to VP- Marketing and Communications role, which also happens to be her last role with the company, in June 2023.

Before joining Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Samantaray was associated with ACC Cement as National Marketing Manager from September 2018 to August 2019; Future Group India as Deputy Manager Marketing from April 2016 to September 2018 and Hindustan Unilever in a Brand Management role from April 2011 to April 2016.

Commenting on the development, she mentioned, “After spending an enriching half decade with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, it was time to take the next strategic career move. As a protege of Unilever and Future Group India, my heart and core have always been in the lifestyle and retail category. A large part of me has always been inclined to return to a space that could allow me to amalgamate my experience in live entertainment and sports marketing.”

“And it seems destiny was on my side! I am thrilled to announce that I am joining Metro Brands Limited as the Head of Marketing for their Sports Division. As one of the country’s leading footwear retail brands, known to every Indian household, I am excited to embark on this new journey and its challenges with Metro Brands Limited,” she added.
