Rohan Jaitley Could Be The Next In Line To Succeed Jay Shah As BCCI Secretary

Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) President Rohan Jaitley is likely to take on the role of the next BCCI secretary, should the current secretary, Jay Shah, succeed in becoming the new chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

However, Shah has not yet filed his nomination for the ICC position.

Media reports suggest that there is increasing consensus within the BCCI for Rohan, the son of the late politician Arun Jaitley, to succeed Shah as the new secretary. However, top officials like president Roger Binny are expected to remain in their positions, as they still have a year left in their current terms.

Last week, ICC Chairman Greg Barclay announced that he will step down from his position at the end of his current third term on November 30. This news has fueled speculation that Shah could potentially succeed him. The new ICC chairman is set to assume office on December 1, with the nomination deadline set for August 27.

If Shah, 35, decides to take the plunge, he will become the youngest ICC chairman in history, joining the ranks of notable Indians such as Jagmohan Dalmiya, Sharad Pawar, N Srinivasan, and Shashank Manohar who have previously held this prestigious position.
