Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL), Punit Goenka resigned as Managing Director (MD) last week and has also withdrawn his consent for re-appointment in the role in the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The company in a regulatory filing said, “withdrawing his consent for his re-appointment as MD of the company as proposed in the Notice of the ensuing AGM of the company scheduled to be held on November 28, 2024.”

Meanwhile, recently he approached the Board of Directors of ZEEL with an approach to focus entirely on his operational responsibilities as the CEO and relinquished his position as the MD.
Goenka’s approach stemmed from his enhanced focus on the core business segments and the concerted efforts required to drive robust growth for the future in the interest of all its stakeholders. In line with the action-oriented steps implemented as part of his growth plan for the Company, he formed a new, lateral team structure.
