Ad insertions of the political parties grew by 145% on TV in October 2024 as compared to September 2023, according to TAM AdEx report on Political Ads During Assembly Election- Maharashtra.
As per the report, political ad insertions in print publications decreased by 12% in October 2024 compared to September 2023. Similarly, political ads on radio also witnessed a 9% drop in October 2024.
Congress-I led the assembly election campaign advertising on television in October 2024, securing a 58% share. The BJP ranked second in ad duration share for the assembly election campaigns, holding 35% in September 2023 and 19% in October 2024.
Coming to print, the National Party, BJP was on top in advertising list, having 47% share of ad space in October 2024 and 39% share in September 2023.
In October 2024, the Congress party held a 7% share in print ads, marking a sharp decline of 84.1% from its 44% share in 2023. On the other hand, Shiv Sena (Balasaebanchi) demonstrated growth, securing a 20% share in 2024 compared to just 3% in 2023, reflecting a 566.7% increase.
Coming to radio advertising, both BJP and Congress were on 1st and 2nd position respectively in both October 2024 and September 2023. BJP dominated the political ads on radio with more than 50% share in October 2024 and more than 80% in September 2023.
In October 2024, Congress held a 27% share, marking a significant increase of 68.8% from its 16% share in September 2023.
