Nishant Gupta has joined PepsiCo as Vice President, Chief Strategy, Transformation & Deployment for India & South Asia. He will be responsible for driving strategy, transformation and deployment initiatives across the region.

Prior to this appointment, Nishant Gupta served as Partner – CPG & Retail for India, Middle East and Africa in Business Consulting at Tata Consultancy Services from October 2021 to December 2025. During this period, he managed the consulting P&L and led multiple transformation engagements across go-to-market strategy, digital transformation, AI strategy, supply chain and inventory, quick commerce strategy, customer experience roadmaps and M&A due diligence for large consumer and retail companies across India, South Africa and the Middle East.
Before joining TCS, Gupta was Director, Business Consulting – Consumer Market at KPMG India from September 2019 to October 2021. His work included growth and expansion feasibility, route-to-market strategies and cost optimisation initiatives for FMCG, textile, food and durable goods companies. He was also involved in revenue enhancement programmes, portfolio and channel strategy development, and setting up new business models across categories such as packaged water, glassware and premium dairy.
Between August 2015 and July 2019, Gupta was Co-founder and Director at Farmery, a direct-to-consumer dairy venture. During this time, he built a fresh dairy e-commerce business serving 5,000 daily households, established a farm-to-kitchen cold supply chain model, managed P&L with break-even achieved within 15 months, and led capital raising and M&A-related activities.
Earlier, Gupta spent over five years at Accenture Strategy, He served as Principal – Consumer Business from March 2012 to August 2015, where he built and managed a consulting book of business across FMCG, consumer electronics and retail, leading growth strategy, sales and service transformation, channel and retail strategy, marketing analytics, cost reduction and supply chain transformation projects. Prior to this, he worked as Engagement Manager from September 2010 to March 2012, leading channel management, sales and distribution transformation and market entry strategy projects.
From July 2006 to September 2010, Gupta was Assistant Vice President and Master Black Belt at Genpact, where he led process improvement and re-engineering engagements for banking and financial services clients, conducted large-scale strategic assessments for offshoring and outsourcing, and managed customer engagement initiatives.
He began his consulting career at Accenture as Senior Consultant – Management Consulting from October 2004 to June 2006, working on supply chain transformation, sales and operations planning and executive scorecard implementation projects for pharmaceutical, FMCG and automotive companies.
Earlier in his career, Gupta worked at Nestlé from November 1999 to October 2004 as Demand and Supply Planning Manager, managing sales and distribution for the North region, leading supply chain optimisation initiatives across beverages and dairy portfolios, and driving S&OP processes across functions. He started his professional journey at Tata Motors as a Procurement Specialist from July 1996 to June 1998, handling sourcing and procurement of sheet metal components for passenger and commercial vehicles.
