However, female athletes still make a lot of money which comes from different sources including salaries, prize money, bonuses, endorsements, appearances fees. The most successful female race car driver started a clothing brand Warrior by Danica Patrick, and authored the fitness book Pretty Intense last year.
8. Simona Halep:$7.7 million
Prize/Salary money: $6.2 million
Endorsements: $1.5 million
Her deal with Adidas ended in 2017 and she wore a dress designed by herself in the Australian Open final to promote her brand. Nike signed her for a multiyear deal.
