Some people prove that hard work really pays. While many are born with a golden spoon, some make their own place in the world. And it’s the stories like these that give us some hope. One such story is of Asif Rahman, whose rags to riches story is something to take inspiration from.
Asif Rahman’s Inspirational History
It was the year 1988 and Asif had just graduated from Calcutta University. Soon after, Asif was in search of a job when he found himself standing outside a carpet shop and admiring the carpets from the window.
When the owner took notice of this curious man looking at his products, he called him inside and after conversing with Asif he instantly offered him a job at his store. Asif started installing carpets at 5-star hotels and that was the beginning of his career in the industry.
Asif defied all odds and with sheer hard work and dedication, he got multiple promotions in his job. His work even fetched him a better opportunity to work in the carpet houses of Bhadohi. After working there for a substantial number of years, Asif was then offered a job in a New-York based carpet company in 2003.
Foundation Of ‘Insigne Carpets’
Working with the New-York based carpet company for a good 8 years gave Asif the international exposure he needed to understand the demand and the market. After being an employee in the industry for more than two decades, Asif had gained enough knowledge to start a carpet business of his own.
In 2011, Asif launched his own carpet company, Insigne Carpets. He launched this business with an investment of Rs 35 lakhs which he had been saving all these years.
The lucky streak for Insigne Carpets had begun from the first go as the first assignment the company received was for Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai. Though it is not an easy task to join the vendor list with the Taj group without having an experienced background, Taj Group, however, took an exception and gave Asif’s company a chance.

Since that day, Insigne Carpets has just moved up with the best quality carpets in the country. The company uses the talent of local artisans across the nation and brings the best work forward.
