Vamsi Murthy has joined Netflix as Senior Director, Head of Marketing India in November 2025. In his new role, he will lead marketing strategy, brand campaigns, and audience engagement across the streaming platform’s content portfolio.
He announced this move via a LinkedIn post.
Murthy was most recently Executive Director & Marketing Head at Jiostar from April 2022 to November 2025, where he led consumer marketing across fiction and non-fiction content, established full-funnel marketing models, and drove campaigns that enhanced subscriptions and viewer engagement.
Prior to Jiostar, he served as Head of Marketing at BookMyShow between May 2021 and April 2022, Vice President Marketing at ZEE5 from June 2020 to May 2021, Director – Brand Marketing at Myntra between April 2019 and June 2020, Associate Director – Brand Marketing at Myntra from December 2017 to March 2019, and Senior Manager – Brand & Social Media at MakeMyTrip from June 2011 to October 2015.
Earlier in his career, Murthy worked with Reliance Communications as Manager – Marketing Communications from January 2008 to May 2011 and Radio Mirchi as Account Manager between June 2006 and January 2008. He also began his career in marketing with various consumer-facing roles across media and entertainment brands, building expertise in creative marketing, brand management, digital marketing, and social media campaigns.
Murthy’s experience spans leading marquee campaigns for Hotstar originals, sporting content, AVOD and SVOD platforms, and brand activations, helping establish multiple streaming platforms as cultural and creative forces in India.
