Vidya Kailasam Hangal has been elevated to the role of Director- Category Planning and Activation (Head- Customer Marketing) at Mondelēz International. In her new role, she has been responsible for leading category planning and customer marketing, driving activation strategies across channels, and strengthening the company’s customer-centric growth agenda in India.
Hangal has announced her elevation through a LinkedIn post, where she has shared the update reflecting her expanded responsibilities at Mondelēz International.
Prior to this elevation, Hangal has spent over 11 years at Mondelēz International in multiple leadership roles. She has served as Director – Omnichannel from August 2023 to November 2025, where she has led the organised trade vertical of Mondelez India Foods, overseeing a business valued at over $350 million and managing Modern Trade (B2C and B2B) along with e-commerce, including quick commerce, e-grocery and e-marketplaces.
Before that, she has worked as India Consumer Digital Leader from August 2022 to August 2023, as part of the India marketing leadership team, where she has driven the data and digital transformation agenda, led owned media platform creation, first-party data strategy, and co-owned the MarTech, analytics and data governance mandate.
Her earlier career includes roles at Britannia Industries as Key Accounts Manager – Emerging Channels from May 2012 to August 2014 and Product Manager – Milk Bikis from September 2011 to April 2012.
She has also worked at Novartis Consumer Health as Brand Manager – Calcium Supplements from July 2010 to August 2011, and at The Coca-Cola Company from June 2006 to July 2010 as Brand Manager for Coke and Diet Coke, managing franchise operations across West and Central India. Hangal began her professional journey as a Software Engineer at Infosys Technologies Ltd between 2003 and 2004.
