Manus, a company known for building advanced general-purpose AI agents, has announced that it is joining Meta, marking a significant step in the evolution of autonomous artificial intelligence. The announcement underscores Manus’s focus on creating AI capable of tackling research, automation, and complex real-world tasks, and positions the integration with Meta as a validation of its technology’s potential.
According to the official announcement, Manus has processed more than 147 trillion tokens and powered the creation of over 80 million virtual computers since its launch, reflecting rapid adoption of its AI agent across users worldwide. The company emphasised that the transition to being part of Meta will not disrupt existing customers; its subscription service will continue to operate through its app and website, and the business will remain based in Singapore.
Manus’s leadership has described the integration as aligning with a long-term vision of scaling autonomous AI capabilities. The Manus team will now work within the broader Meta ecosystem, with the aim of expanding access to its agent technology to millions of businesses and potentially billions of people on Meta’s platforms over time.
Complementary reporting notes the broader context of Meta’s strategic AI investments, with the company acquiring the Singapore-based startup to bolster its AI offerings, retain a standalone service, and integrate the agent technology across consumer and business products without changing how decisions are made within Manus.
This development highlights the increasing importance of autonomous AI agents — systems capable of independently executing multi-step tasks — in the industry’s race to deliver more powerful, real-world AI applications at scale.
“Joining Meta allows us to build on a stronger, more sustainable foundation without changing how Manus works or how decisions are made,” said Xiao Hong, CEO of Manus. “We’re excited about what the future holds with Meta and Manus working together and we will continue to iterate the product and serve users that have defined Manus from the beginning.”
