She had interest in fashion and beauty products from childhood and she had a dream of selling beauty products specifically for South Asian women as she thinks that South Asian ladies are always pressured for having white skin and she wanted to change this trend. She got the knowledge about makeup on a summer internship which did in college years

Challenges he had to face

She was asked to make a career in law, medicine or engineering but she wanted to follow what she loved doing makeup. She took business administration and marketing in college and was doing a job in the same industry when she decided to take a chance and started making makeup tutorials on YouTube. Deepica’s parents always wanted her to make a career which is financially stable. Starting a YouTube channel was not that easy as she thought that viewers will not show interest in a South Asian girl doing makeup tutorials as most videomakers in this niche are having white skin colour.

The turning point

She got the confidence after getting featured in a Buzzfeed article which gave her huge popularity and people started recognizing her. Unlike other video creators, she got success with the 2nd video which now has more than 10 million views on YouTube. After that, she decided to left her job without telling her parents as she thought about the pressure they will put on her for changing the decision. The number of views got was unbelievable for her. Tips for other YouTubers

On talking about YouTube tips, she says that one should not think too much before starting as all it does is increases the stress plus delay can cause a lot of problems resulting in not even starting the work.
She revealed in an interview that people will call you fat, ugly or black but the channel owner should be matured enough to know that these type of things are not so valuable that one can leave the idea of following dreams because of this.
