Indians are everywhere! From Google to Microsoft, the executive posts of most top multinational companies are taken up by Indians. Currently, another Indian has successfully enlisted her name with Google India.
“Ghar Se Nikalte Hi” actress, Mayoori Kango, is now the Industry head of Google India.
Who is Mayoori Kango?
The light-eyed actor, at the age of 15, took to films rather than getting enrolled in IIT Kanpur (a dream for many youths of our country) and went on to make her acting debut with National Award-winning film Naseem (1995). Papa Kehte Hain, Betaabi, Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet, Badal and Papa the Great are the few movies she was featured in. Being in the film industry, gave her an opportunity to work with stalwarts like Ajay Devgn, Anupam Kher, Arshad Warsi, Shakti Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rani Mukerji, Chandrachur Singh, and Jugal Hansraj.
After marriage, she shifted to US. She later pursued an MBA (her first step into the path of the corporate world) in marketing and finance from City University of New York-Baruch College – Zicklin School of Business.
Sneak-peek into her professional journey..
Mayoori started off her career with a New York City-based digital agency called 360i as an associate media manager. She worked in the US from 2004 till 2012. After the birth of her son, she returned to India, and settled down in Gurgaon, shuttling between Mumbai and Bengaluru.
She has also previously been the managing director of Performics.Resultrix, part of Publicis Groupe, the associate director, media of Digitas and as Chief Digital Officer of Zenith.
The inbound motivation..
“How come you are here?” – the one question Mayoori is tired answering to everyone she meets. But her motivation is to prove herself in every new meeting and falsify facts which say ‘actors are not intelligent’. She believes and advises that all the actresses should first complete their education before they come looking for that one big film that could change their option. She heads on to boldly comment that actresses only have a career of 10 years and they must always have a backup option!
The inspiring story of Mayoori Kango, who was courageous enough to break all the made facts about actors would certainly inspire all the actors who want to wiggle through constructive career options, post their ‘acting career’.
