Parthasarathy M A, Chief Strategy Officer at GroupM (now WPP Media), has announced his retirement, bringing to an end a career in which he has led strategy, consulting, business planning and product development across multiple key roles within the network.
He has shared the update on LinkedIn, noting that he has taken the decision to retire after 17 years with WPP Media (spanning Mindshare, GroupM and WPP Media). In his post, he has reflected on his journey since joining Mindshare India in January 2009 and expressed gratitude toward his mentors, colleagues and clients across his various leadership roles.
Prior to his retirement, Parthasarathy has held several senior roles across WPP Media over the past three decades. He has been serving as Chief Strategy Officer at GroupM (now WPP Media), South Asia from March 2022.
Before this, he has spent over 13 years at Mindshare, starting in January 2009 as Leader – Business Planning for South Asia until December 2011, then moving into the role of Chief Client Officer from January 2012 to April 2015, and later serving as Chief Product Officer, South Asia from May 2015 to March 2022.
Earlier in his career, he has spent four years at JWT Chennai (formerly HTA/JWT), where he has served as Regional Account Director, Asia-Pacific and Africa from January 2005 to December 2008, managing advertising and communications for the Ford brand across 11 markets in the region.
