Lied To My Dad When Quitting Well-Paying Job To Start iD Fresh Food: CEO PC Musthafa

| Published on March 3, 2020

Today’s youth of India is aspiring for entrepreneurship. There are enough examples of successful entrepreneurs to give someone some boost to start one’s own business. But it is not enough, one also has to understand how successful entrepreneurs think.

Today, we are doing something similar. We will look into the mind of PC Musthafa, an IIM graduate and Co-founder & CEO of ID Fresh Food.

ID Fresh Food is a fresh food brand which produces and delivers idli and dosa batter, wheat and oats dosa batter, rice rava idli batter, ragi idli and dosa batter, and organic Malabar and wheat parota and put home-made meals on dining tables across Bangalore, Mysore, Mangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Vizag, Rajahmundry, Chennai, Ernakulam, Coimbatore, Cochin, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Here are five questions asked to PC Musthafa:

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
For me, happiness is not about money or success, but about having a positive impact on people’s lives. Having experienced hunger in my early days, my endeavour is to ensure all children go to bed with food in their bellies and dreams in their eyes.

Lied To My Dad When Quitting Well-Paying Job To Start iD Fresh Food: CEO PC MusthafaWhat do you consider your greatest achievement?
While growing up, studying in prestigious universities was not on my radar. However, after I saw the beautiful IIM-B campus, I aspired to study there. So, while I was working with an MNC, I dedicated two hours every day for two years to work on my weaknesses. Finally, my hard work paid off, and I got into IIM. In 2018, I received the youngest Distinguished Alumni Award. My parents were on stage when I received the award and I could see how proud they were. That sense of pride is my greatest achievement in life.

Who are your heroes in real life?
My parents are my heroes. My dad was a daily wage worker and struggled to make ends meet. Even while providing three meals a day was difficult, my parents still focussed on educating me. They had the will and they found the way to get me to where I am today.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
I use a very uncommon word: common sense. It’s a powerful instrument that is sadly underrated.

On what occasion do you lie?
The biggest—and the most terrifying lie—I’ve ever told was to my dad, when quitting my well-paying job to start iD Fresh. Looking back, I’m so glad that I took the plunge.
