In an internal mail, Bharath announced that David Zakkam has joined JioStar as Senior Vice President and Head of Analytics and Data Strategy. With his appointment, all of the digital analytics organisation, including Veeran’s team, has begun reporting to him.
In this role, Zakkam has been partnering with the business, content, marketing, ads, engineering, and product teams to unlock consumer and business value through data-driven decision-making.
Zakkam has brought over 21 years of experience in data science and analytics, having held senior positions at Uber, Meta, Swiggy, and Mu Sigma. His career has included leading Uber’s Data and Applied Science team in India, where he has driven growth across rides, delivery, and mobility, while also pioneering generative AI applications.
At Meta, he has worked on addressing integrity challenges to protect millions of users, and as Vice President of Analytics at Swiggy, he has transformed the company’s data culture to drive scale and impact.
