Reliance’s OTT platform JioCinema, that has been streaming the Indian Premier League (IPL) for free with ads, has recently dropped hints about a fresh subscription plan that could let viewers enjoy the content without ads.
Through various teasers and posts on their social media handles, JioCinema has suggested that they will introduce a supposedly ‘ad-free’ subscription plan on April 25.
In one of the teasers, two people were seen sitting together and watching TV with some sort of sports commentary in the background. Suddenly, someone interrupts them with the question, “To aaj kya plan hai” (what’s the plan for today). To which they answer, “Aaj dekhenge series of ads” (today, we’re gonna watch a bunch of ads).
JioCinema posted, “Change is constant, but your plan doesn’t have to be. A new plan coming April 25”.
