ABSLI’s Jaimit Doshi Joins Lenskart As Global Marketing Head & CEO- Hustlr

Calling it a day at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance after serving a more than four-and-a-half years long stint at the company, Jaimit Doshi has now joined Lenskart as Global Marketing Head and CEO of one of its flagship ranges- Hustlr.

The Hustlr range, created by Lenskart, is specifically designed for extended use of digital screens and has been gaining popularity owing to the company CEO- Peyush Bansal wearing it himself on the screens of Shark Tank India.

Announcing the move on LinkedIn via a post, he mentioned, “A brand is a product wrapped in a promise. All my life I wanted to sell a physical product but… Something that’s functional yet something that has emotion, Something that is about being better but something that can make you feel better, Something that you can buy online yet something that is available in stores, Something that is affordable and yet is at premium, Something that appeals to India but also works at Bharat, Something that has a service element to it, but is a real physical product you can touch and feel, Something that is needed for kids and something that’s needed for adults alike, Something that’s rooted in India but that can conquer the world!”

To this, he added, “Which is this magical company that I could work in and learn from? Yesterday I joined Lenskart.com with a dual role- as Lenskart’s Global Head of Marketing and CEO of Hustlr, their phenomenal successful brand. So when Peyush Bansal offered me this role over one dinner meeting, much as it was difficult to leave Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance, it was an offer that was impossible to refuse. I almost jumped first and thought later. I have always maintained that I have never planned my career moves and made career decisions well in advance. My principle is simple- is it a great problem to solve? Will it engage me everyday and every second. Will I learn something new and drastically different?… Is it fundamentally ‘A chance to work hard at work worth doing’. These principles allowed me to take on roles that are as diverse as marketing, digital transformation, sales, HR (yes) and even being a CTO of an insurance company! They allowed me to grow as a person and as a professional. Thanks to the Lenskart team for allowing me a chance to be a part of their tribe!”

A day before, he had also announced his departure from Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance on LinkedIn.

During his time at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance, Doshi served the role of Chief Technology, Digital, and Marketing Officer from October 2022 to August 2024, wherein he was responsible for driving transformation primarily. He joined the company as Chief Digital and Marketing Officer in March 2020 to head marketing, digital, direct and analytics of the company.

Before that, he served the role of EVP at Kotak Securities wherein he headed Marketing, Products, Platforms and Digital for a period of over two-and-a-half years, starting August 2017.

From December 2015 to August 2017, he worked as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Coverfox Insurance and was responsible for heading the Sales and Marketing function for the company in addition to overseeing Advertising, Digital impact and performance, Sales teams, the Contact Centre, Operations, and Human Resources.

Prior to this, Doshi also worked as Head of Marketing at Citrus Payment Solutions from September 2015 to November 2015.

In his earlier stint with Kotak which lasted for over a decade, he served across a slew of roles in various arms of the company, including Kotak Securities, Kotak Mahindra Bank (a Goldman Sachs joint venture), Kotak Mahindra (UK), Kotak Investment Advisors and Kotak Wealth Management.

In the past, he was also associated with Momentum Consulting, Ctech and Hiranandani Constructions.
