India is the third largest hub for startups, only behind the USA and China. According to stats this year, startups in our country raised more than $21 billion in a span of just 8 months, from January to August.
The fifth Annual Top Startups List by LinkedIn is out, and it has 25 companies who have been in the spotlight this year, doing phenomenally well in their respective areas.
Based on data available at LinkedIn across four factors – employee growth; jobseeker interest; member engagement within the company and its employees; and how well these startups pulled talent from their flagship LinkedIn Top Companies List, here is the list of companies in no particular order.
1.CRED
With its unconventional ads, and some innovative perquisites offered to its employees, like mental wellness support, ElderCare, and egg freezing under their BeniFlex Program, the 2018-established fintech company is one of the top startups according to LinkedIn.
2. upGrad
The tech company raised $210 million in Series F funding, projecting growth of 100% year-on-year.
3. Zepto
Found by two teenagers who have now entered the 1000 crore net worth club themselves, the ten-minute grocery delivery app Zepto is soon projected to enter the unicorn club.
4. MBA Chaiwala
The café chain gained a lot of popularity owing to the background of its founder, an MBA aspirant, and farmer’s son Prafull Billore.
5. The Good Glamm Group
The content-to-commerce platform comprises India’s leading digital media platforms like POPxo, Scoopwhoop, Baby Chakra & MissMalini.
6. Spinny
The full stack used car marketplace was founded in 2015. It plans to hire up to 2500 people from Tier 2 and 3 cities this year.
7. Groww
With its user-friendly interface, the investment platform has managed to amass a user base of over 1.5 crores across 900 cities.
8. Skyroot Aerospace
Currently working on its Vikram series of rockets that will enable carrying small satellites in space, the startup recently raised Rs 403 crore in Series B funding.
9. BluSmart
Gurugram-based all-electric cab service and ride-sharing company BluSmart has a fleet of over 2000 vehicles, that aim to make the planet greener.
10. Sharechat
The social media company has over 400 million monthly active users covering platforms like Moj and ShareChat app. Its recent partnership with the e-commerce platform Dukaan will help merchants and creators join forces and promote products.
11. Ditto Insurance
Ditto provides consultation and educational services for people looking to purchase insurance.
12. Classplus
More than 1 Lakh coaching institutes from 1,100+ Indian cities have set up their online business through apps built by Classplus.
13. Simpl
With a global team spread across three countries, 7 million users have undertaken transactions worth 49 million through Simpl, a buy now pay later app.
14. Rapido
The online bike-taxi pickup service is aiming to reach 50 million users by year-end.
15. GrowthSchool
A community-led live learning platform, GrowthSchool aims to deliver holistic growth-both professional and personal, with mentors like Ankur Warikoo and Devaiah Bopanna.
16. BlissClub
BlissClub is a two-year-old homegrown Indian activewear brand founded by ISB alumni Minu Margeret, and has raised $20.25 million in funding until now.
17. DealShare
Grocery delivery platform DealShare works with local Kirana stores. With its user-friendly interface, the platform has amassed a customer base of 20 million users.
18. Ultrahuman
Ultrahuman is a metabolic fitness platform that helps in making you healthier through specialties like meditation, sleep, mindfulness, and self-growth.
Their Ultrahuman Ring, a smart ring to track metabolic fitness in real time, has taken the smart wearables industry a notch higher.
19. Living Food
Living Food delivers fresh, clean, and credible food that is good for you and right for the planet. The startup raised $7.5 million in a Series A round of funding.
20. Park+
An app for your car, that offers services like daily car cleaning, FASTag recharges, finding and booking parking, viewing e-challans, and also checking your car health along with buying and renewing insurance.
21. FamPay
The startup specifically directed at making teens digital payment-friendly raised one of the country’s biggest Series A funding rounds.
22. AgniKul Cosmos
AgniKul, designs, manufactures, tests, and launches orbital class rockets for micro and nanosatellites. The startup raised the US $ 11 million in a Series A round of funding.
23. Stanza Living
The startup provides co-living services in fully-furnished apartments with amenities like internet and meals.
24. Pocket FM
The audio streaming app offers stories and podcasts across a plethora of genres and has more than 15 million monthly active listeners and more than 2 lakh creators.
25. Zypp Electric
The Gurugram-based startup provides electric vehicles to companies looking for more eco-friendly delivery fleet solutions.
