Aiming to strengthen its position as a leading name in professional upskilling, Hero Vired, a learntech platform owned by the Hero Group has appointed MakeMyTrip’s Prakhar Kasar as its new Chief Executive Officer.
This appointment of Kasar at Hero Vired comes at a time when the company seeks to expand its reach and impact in the rapidly evolving online education universe.
As part of his new role at Hero Vired, he plans to leverage Hero Vired’s strengths in pedagogy and teaching methodologies, combined with the latest tech advancements, to drive the company’s growth.
Before joining Hero Vired, Kasar was associated with MakeMyTrip for a decade’s time. He joined the travel major as Senior Manager Marketing in April 2015 and was elevated to the role of Associate Director Marketing in October 2016 and Director- Revenue (Hotels) in December 2017. In January 2021, he assumed the role of VP and Business Head- MyBiz (MakeMyTrip for Work) at the company.
He started his career with PepsiCo India in July 2008 and went on to be associated with them for nearly seven years before joining MakeMyTrip. He joined them as a Management Trainee in 2008 and went on to become the Territory Development Manager in July 2009. After serving the role of the same for two-and-a-half years, he was promoted as Assistant Brand Manager-Pepsi in January 2012.
In March 2014, Kasar assumed the role of Brand Manager- Pepsi and moved up the ladder to take up the position of Brand Manager- Beverage Innovation at the company in November 2014.

Outlining his strategy, Kasar, CEO- Hero Vired, emphasized a two-pronged approach and said, “In the immediate future, we’ll focus on enhancing B2C offerings, particularly our live learning experiences that cater to a premium audience. This builds on Hero Vired’s existing strengths while setting the stage for broader expansion. Looking ahead, we see significant opportunities in the B2B and B2I markets, as well as potential to reach new consumer segments.”
