Indian women have been taking the lead of the global economy over the decades. Many big multinational companies have women placed as their CEOs. And recently, HCL Technologies appointed the first woman to lead a listed IT company in India, Roshini Nadar.
Not only Roshni is the wealthiest woman in India, but she is also the daughter of the founder & the chairman of HCL Technologies, Shiv Nadar. Her net worth is estimated at Rs 31,400 crore, according to IIFL Wealth Hurun India.
While Roshni takes the seat as the CEO of the company, Shiv Nadar will continue to be HCL Tech’s managing director, with the designation as the chief strategy officer.
Roshni was born in New Delhi in 1982 and did her schooling from Vasant Valley School, Delhi. She graduated from Northwestern University in Illinois, the USA with a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
Roshni Nadar Malhotra has been the executive director and CEO of HCL Corporation since 2009, vice-chairperson of the board of HCL Technologies. She is also the trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation which focuses on education and has established some of India’s top colleges and schools.
Married to Shikhar Malhotra, who is also an executive director and member of the board at HCL & also serves as the vice-chairman and CEO of HCL Healthcare, Roshni & Shikhar have two sons together.
The list of achievements for the young CEO is rather long. Roshni has featured in “The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” list by Forbes from 2017 through 2019.
