The year 2022 came with many ups and downs. And while we bid it adieu and welcome the year 2023, there have been some of the most noteworthy developments that came with it.
The year witnessed a considerable surge in the startup culture with many people coming forth with their business ideas. Encouraging these startups, some of the entrepreneurs turned angel investors and investment in hundreds of startups in 2022.
Here are the top Angel Investors of 2022.
1. Kunal Shah
Kunal Shah, Cred’s founder, and chief executive officer (CEO) once again topped the list of angel investors funding the most deals in a year, according to Venture Intelligence data, with 67 investments this year.
2. Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal
Snapdeal co-founders Kunal Bahl, and Rohit Bansal have been investing through their investment arm Titan Capital and were angel investors in 34 and 30 startups respectively in 2022.
3. Aman Gupta
After starring on Shark Tank, Aman Gupta, founder of boAt, achieved a lot of fame. Keeping up the spirit of the show, Aman Gupta invested in 16 startups in 2022 which was more than twice what he had invested in 2021.
4. Karthik Bhat
After working with Goldman Sachs and the news portal Dailyhunt, Karthik Bhat started his own investment firm, Force Ventures. Karthik invested in 15 angel investments in 2022 placing him fourth on the list of India’s top angel investors in 2022.
5. Sandeep Nailwal
Sandeep Nailwal is the co-founder of a multi-billion-dollar Web3 firm Polygon. He was an angel investor in 15 startups in 2021 which were majorly in the crypto space.
6. Sujeet Kumar
Sujeet Kumar is the Co-Founder at Udaan which is a B2B platform business and shop owner. Sujeet Kumar was placed in sixth place as an angel investor in 15 startups.
7. Gokul Rajaram
Gokul Rajaram is the Product and Business Helper at Doordash and is currently at Pinterest and Coinbase as a board member. He was an angel investor in 13 startups in 2022, which was a step up from 8 investments in 2021.
