Gucci Is Selling Ladies Kurta For Rs 2.5 Lakhs

| Published on June 5, 2021

The meaning of fashion has changed so much over the years. The fashion industry was estimated worth $527.1 billion in 2020 alone. Though some brands have been introducing the trendiest fashion over the years, there have been some brands who have been making some absurd designs.

From apparel to accessories, there have been many products in the market that have left us scratching our heads. From Prada’s pre-ripped tights, Crocs and Kentucky Fried Chicken collab leading to ugly crocs, to Zara’s arm sweaters, the list goes on and on.

Gucci, being a leader in the industry, has also been one of the luxury brands introducing some quirky fashion at extortionate prices. Whether it is shoes or eyewear, Gucci has ruined many products for us.

Recently, Gucci has been receiving a lot of flak for its new range of ‘kaftans’. It isn’t the design so much that is getting the backlash but the price tag that comes with it. Gucci is selling these Kaftans for an insane price ranging from $2,100 (Rs 1.5 lakh) to $3,500 (Rs 2.5 lakh).

As reported by News18, these Kaftans are inspired by the Indian culture and embody a ‘floral embroidery organic linen’. Obviously, this has disturbed a lot of Indians all over the world and people have taken up to Twitter to express their disappointment with the brand.

The post was first shared by a Twitter user which later on went viral.

Many people said that they wouldn’t even buy it for Rs 500 while some just couldn’t believe that people would actually buy something as basic as these for such a hefty price.

It is crazy how brands would charge their customers so insanely high all in the name of ‘brand’ and fashion. All we wonder is who is actually going to buy these ‘Kaftans’?
