Most brands have always worked with famous celebrities in order to make their marketing more impactful. Having a huge fan following, it becomes easier for the brands to encash the celebrity’s stardom as people tend to buy what their favorite actor is selling on the television.
But the actors have come a long way from endorsing other’s brand to becoming one themselves. Many celebrities have started their own enterprises and endorsing it themselves.
1. Prowl By Tiger Shroff
Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff launched his own active clothing and accessories brand Prowl in the Indian market in 2018 at an event in Mumbai. The actor has collaborated with Indian firm Mojostar for Prowl.
The range, which includes t-shirts, tanks, shorts, sweatshirts, joggers, track-pants and compression wear, is exclusively available for purchase at the brand’s website and on Amazon Fashion.
2. True Blue by Sachin Tendulkar
In 2017, Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar launched his premium menswear and accessories brand. Launched in association with Arvind Fashion Brands, Tendulkar said, “In the last 24 years if I wasn’t in whites on the field, I was in blues. Blue happens to be my favorite color as well. So I thought, I might as well take that off the field and share that with people who have supported me for so many years and give them the opportunity to wear something which is of my taste, what I like.”
3. Saif Ali Khan – House of Pataudi
Actor Saif Ali Khan wanted to bring the idea of old heritage through his clothing line. Keeping this in mind, Khan launched his own ethnic fashion brand ‘House of Pataudi‘ with Flipkart-owned online fashion retailer Myntra.
4. Just F by Jacqueline Fernandez
In 2017, Jacqueline Fernandez collaborates with Mojostar to launch a line of ‘women-first’ activewear that can be worn just as easily at a bar as it can at a gym.
While talking about her company Just F, she said, ‘Our stylish athleisure offerings are designed to better suit the Indian female body in terms of construction and sizing and are centered on colors, silhouettes, and prints that can make fitness fun, sporty, versatile, and feminine.”
5. DaONE By Shikhar Dhawan
In 2018, along with his wife Aesha, Shikhar Dhawan launched his home décor brand by the name DaONE Home. ‘DaONE’ is something Shikhar’s peers have always called him fondly. The brand is aimed to make your personal space look more beautiful than ever.
6. Skult by Shahid Kapoor
Skult by Shahid Kapoor is termed as India’s first dedicated athleisure brand. Available at Amazon Fashion, the brand is built on the core principle of ‘fashion meets functionality,’ and has gained immense popularity amongst the youth ever since its launch.
