Chennai Super Kings has partnered with Snapchat to introduce an in-stadium Snap Camera experience at ROAR 2026, the franchise’s pre-season fan event held at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The collaboration has marked Snapchat’s first in-stadium Snap Camera integration at a cricket event. The activation has been displayed across stadium LED screens and has engaged an audience of over 25,000 attendees during the event.
As part of the initiative, Snapchat has integrated augmented reality (AR) features into the live event experience, enabling real-time fan interaction through Snap Camera moments embedded within the stadium environment.
The partnership has also extended beyond the venue through digital activations. These have included SnapStarSquad creator-led content, Snap Map integration showcasing user-generated content from the event, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content published on CSK’s official Snapchat profile.
The initiative has represented an attempt to merge in-stadium engagement with digital storytelling, using creator ecosystems and platform-led features to scale fan interaction.
“At CSK, our fans are at the core of everything we do, and ROAR’26 was a celebration of that deep connection. We are always exploring ways to elevate the fan experience, both in-stadium and beyond, and Snapchat was a strong strategic partner in that journey. Through innovations like Snap Camera integration, we were able to create immersive and authentic touchpoints for our audience. The addition of AR brought a new layer of interactivity, making fans feel closer to the action. The stadium roar was a testament to how successful this partnership really was. We are proud of being the first IPL team to execute this tech in the stadium.” – KS Viswanathan, MD, Chennai Super Kings.
