Cannes Lions 2024: Indian Contingent’s Account Opens With 1 Gold Lion, 1 Silver Lion and 2 Bronze Lion on Day 1

Opening the Indian contingent’s winning account on the first day of the 71st edition of Cannes Lions was McCann Gurugram for it won 1 Gold and 1 Bronze Lion and Ogilvy Mumbai with 1 Bronze Lion in the Health & Wellness category. In the Outdoor category, Ogilvy Mumbai and Rapport Outdoor Advertising together brought home another Silver Lion. India won a total of 4 Lions (1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze) across six categories.

Cannes Lions 2024: Indian Contingent’s Account Opens With 1 Gold Lion, 1 Silver Lion and 2 Bronze Lion on Day 1

On Day 1 of the 71st edition of Cannes Lions 2024, India’s creative contingent opened up its winning account for the five-days long coveted gala by bringing home a total of 4 Lions- 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze across six categories.

The six categories for which the winners were announced today include Audio & Radio, Health & Wellness, Lions Health Grand Prix for Good, Outdoor, Pharma and Print & Publishing Lions.

Here is a sneak peek into the campaigns that made India proud on Day 1 of Cannes Lions 2024:

1. Health & Wellness Lions

In the Health & Wellness Category, it was McCann Gurugram’s ‘FIT MY FEET SLIPPERS’ for Buckaroo Footware which bagged the Gold Lion for India in the medium- Healthcare Product and a Bronze Lion in the Brand Experience & Activation medium on Day 1 of Cannes Lions 2024.

In the same category, Ogilvy Mumbai’s work on ‘THE IMPOSSIBLE CHOICE’ for St. Jude India Childcare Centres also won a Bronze Lion in the medium- Film: Cinema, TV and Digital Film Content.

2. Outdoor Lions

In the Outdoor Lions Category, it was Ogilvy Mumbai Rapport Outdoor Advertising’s work for Unilever’s Brooke Bond Taj Mahal Tea titled- ‘Taj Mahal Megh Santoor’ which bagged the Silver Lion for India on Day 1 of Cannes Lions.

Unfortunately, there were no wins from India in categories such as Pharma, Print, Publishing Lions and Lions Health Grand Prix for Good.
