India’s bid to get Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed’s chief Masood Azhar designated as a “global terrorist” by the UN Security Council has been once again blocked by China. In response, Indian have started boycotting Chinese products and #BoycottChineseProducts hashtag is trending on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The proposal to designate Azhar was moved by France, the UK and the US on February 27, days after the Pulwama attack which led to a flare-up in tensions between India and Pakistan. This is the 4th time that China has blocked the resolution against Azhar since 2009.
Indians are angry over this and are using #BoycottChina and #BoycottChineseProducts as they reasoned that #ChinaBacksTerror.
