Avinash Kaul Exits Network18 After 12 Years

Avinash Kaul, CEO & Managing Director at Network18, has stepped down after nearly 12 years, marking the end of a long tenure at the media conglomerate.

Avinash Kaul Exits Network18 After 12 Years

Avinash Kaul has stepped down from his role as CEO – Network18 and Managing Director, A+E Networks | TV18, concluding a nearly 12-year tenure with the organisation. In his role, he has overseen a portfolio spanning 20 channels, a publishing business, and a growing connected TV footprint, while driving revenue growth and channel share across the network.

He has announced his exit through a LinkedIn post, where he reflected on his journey at the organisation and acknowledged teams across functions including content, revenue, marketing, technology, and operations.

Prior to this, Kaul has held multiple leadership roles at Network18 Media & Investments. He has served as Managing Director of A+E Networks | TV18 from March 2015 to April 2026, both based in Mumbai. Earlier, he has been Chief Operating Officer from April 2018 to May 2019, President from May 2016 to April 2018, and Chief Executive Officer – IBN News Network from May 2014 to April 2016.

Before joining Network18, he has been CEO – TV Division at BCCL (Times Group) from August 2010 to May 2014 in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. He has also served as CEO at Sahara One Entertainment and Media from February 2010 to August 2010, where he was responsible for overall business operations across channels including Sahara One, Filmy, and Firangi.

Earlier in his career, he has worked at NDTV Media as Executive Vice President from September 2002 to February 2010, where he has handled cross-functional responsibilities across finance, marketing, strategy, business development, corporate planning, administration, and HR, while also leading marketing for NDTV channels. He has begun his career with roles at Star India as Senior Manager from 2001 to 2002, Discovery Communications as Assistant Manager from 1999 to 2001, and WPP as Media Planner from 1998 to 1999, working across research, planning, and media strategy functions.
