Ajit Varghese has stepped down from his role as Head of Revenue, Entertainment and International at JioStar, as per an internal memo circulated to employees today.
He has stepped down from his position at JioStar, the Reliance-Disney joint venture formed last year, less than a year after assuming the role.
Mahesh Shetty, who has been leading JioStar’s Large Customer Sales (LCS) business, will take over from Varghese. He is now the Head of Revenue, Entertainment, JioStar.
Before this, Varghese served as EVP, Head of Network – Ad Sales at The Walt Disney Company, from January 2023 to December 2024.
Between December 2020 and December 2022, he worked with ShareChat and Moj as Chief Commercial Officer.
Prior to that, Varghese was associated with WPP for over 13 years, between November 2006 and February 2020, transitioning through various roles including, Managing Director – South Asia, Maxus; CEO – Asia Pacific, Maxus; Global President, Wavemaker.
Varghese served as COO at Madison World from June 1999 to October 2006.
