Abbey Thomas, who has been associated with Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Group for many years now and serves the role of Head of Marketing- Volkswagen Passenger Car brand, has now been appointed as the Country Head of Bentley in India, transitioning the super luxury car brand from being an imported brand to that with a local office in the country.
This development comes in the aftermath of a strong momentum build up in India’s super luxury car market and is poised to aid the Group and Bentley in cashing in on the growing demand from ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
As per reports, the Group is now looking forward to restructuring operations, improving service and parts availability, and expanding Bentley’s footprint with a new dealer in southern India.
That being said, in his new role at the company which is slated to begin in January, Thomas will report to Jan Bures, Executive Director of Sales, Marketing, and Digital at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India.
Currently, Bentley Motors’ official importer in India is Exclusive Motors with its facilities being present in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.
Recently, Bentley had also created five bespoke Mulliner models for the Indian market, for the first time since the British brand started selling in the country.
