Cannes Lions 2024: Six Indians Enlisted In This Year’s Shortlisting Jury Members

Cannes Lions has announced the Shortlisting Jury Members for this year’s International Festival of Creativity 2024. The list comprises six professionals from the Indian creative landscape, namely- Superfly Films’ Kopal Naithani, BBDO’s Naina Meattle, Marico’s Ankit Desai, Dentsu Creative’s Gurbaksh Singh, FCB Kinnect’s Kartikeya Tiwari and Havas CX’s Prashant Tekwani.

Cannes Lions 2024: Six Indians Enlisted In This Year’s Shortlisting Jury Members

Cannes Lions has announced the line-up of global experts from across 75 markets and creative industries who will shortlist world-class creative work this June.

Work from across the globe will be judged, awarded and celebrated during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity from June 17 to 21.

Six professionals from the Indian Creative landscape have been selected as Shortlisting Jury Members.

These include:-
A. Classic Track:
1. Film Lions- Kopal Naithani, Director and Founder, Superfly Films

B. Engagement Track:
1. Direct Lions- Naina Meattle, Vice President – Planning, BBDO
2. Media Lions- Ankit Desai, Head- Media, Digital Marketing and Brand PR, Marico
3. Social & Influencer Lions- Gurbaksh Singh, Chief Innovation Officer, Dentsu Creative
4. Social & Influencer Lions- Kartikeya Tiwari, NCD and SVP, FCB Kinnect

C. Experience Track:
1. Brand Experience & Activation Lions- Prashant Tekwani, Managing Partner, Havas CX

That being said, 12 new markets that are represented on the Shortlisting Jury for the first time include Algeria, Bulgaria, Cambodia, El Salvador, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Panama, Nicaragua, Slovakia, Uganda and Uzbekistan.

Commenting on the development, Simon Cook, CEO, LIONS, said, “Our Shortlisting Jurors play a fundamental role in the Cannes Lions judging process. This talented line-up of industry experts will bring us one step closer to defining the creative benchmark on the global stage this June. I’d like to extend my gratitude for their hard work in curating the work that will go on to be awarded and recognised at the Festival this year.”

To this, Marian Brannelly, Global Director of Awards, LIONS, added, “We’re delighted to have representation from 12 new markets on the Shortlisting Jury this year, bringing a breadth of perspectives and specialisms to the judging process. It’s essential that we have diverse viewpoints and voices in this crucial stage of judging, and we’re looking forward to seeing the work that will go on to be shortlisted.”
