Madras Advertising Club Announces 42nd Edition Of MADDYs; Introduces New Categories For Awards

One of the oldest and active advertising clubs in the country, Madras Advertising Club, has announced the return of its flagship gala, MADDYs 2024, which celebrates applaud worthy ad work in Creative, Digital, Media and Unpublished categories. The title of Digital Agency Of The Year and Client Of The Year has also been added to MADDYs 2024.

Madras Advertising Club Announces 42nd Edition Of MADDYs; Introduces New Categories For Awards

Known to be one of the oldest and active advertising clubs in India, Madras Advertising Club has announced the return of its highly anticipated flagship event– the 42nd MADDYs 2024 with a promise to be both ‘bigger and better’.

Recognizing the ever-evolving advertising landscape, Madras Advertising Club has expanded the award categories to 146 categories to encompass the latest trends and innovations and to ensure a more inclusive platform that celebrates excellence across all facets of advertising.

Boasting a refreshed yet simple award segment structure, the various awards for MADDYs 2024 have been categorized under four broad categories- Creative, Digital, Media and Unpublished.

While the Creative Category under MADDYs comprises 98 subcategories across multiple industry verticals including FMCG, Consumer Durables, Automobiles, Retail, Health & Wellness, Hospitality, Banking & Insurance, Education, Online services, Telecom, Real Estate, Media & Entertainment, Public Services, etc. These categories would cover all types of media i.e.- Print, Television, Radio, OOH and Digital.

The new additions to MADDYs Creative Awards section this year include Maddys Design, Maddys Craft, Video (for Production Houses), Radio, Best use of AI, Public Service, Regional (Tamil) and Integrated campaigns.

While the 20 subcategories in the Digital Awards category are broadly classified into Creative/Content, Mobile, Websites and Digital campaigns, the Media Awards for MADDYs 2024 comprise 22 subcategories under Media Innovation, Media Strategy, Events & Brand Activation and Integrated campaigns.

The fourth category of MADDYs 2024 which is Unpublished Awards comprises 6 categories to bring out passionate work that may not be commissioned by the client but recognised by the advertising fraternity.

This time around, Madras Ad Club has also decided to introduce the award and title of Digital Agency Of The Year and Client Of The Year along with Creative Agency Of The Year and Media Agency Of The Year.

Commenting on the development, S Balasubramanian, President, Madras Advertising Club, said, “In line with the evolving trends within our industry, we have introduced several new categories and revitalized existing segments, thus ensuring a more comprehensive scope. Our aim in making these adjustments is to broaden our reach and enhance accessibility for a diverse array of participants. Through these updates, we aspire to celebrate and acknowledge advertising talents across various domains.”
