Considering that this number is 92.7 percent of the total internet users, the situation tells us about our dependence on social media. The report even revealed that, on average, people spend 2 hours and 24 minutes on social networks every single day.

The data shows that Instagram was the most deleted app in 2023. Snapchat, Telegram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Tiktok were the other apps to follow. As compared to these apps, the numbers for WhatsApp and WeChat are fairly less. Threads, which was launched by Meta in 2023, saw a whopping 100 million users in just five days, but it has experienced an 80% drop in daily active users since the launch.

Nine of the most popular social media networks were analysed in this report over 12 months to examine how many times ‘how to delete (my) account’ was searched per month on average. Later it was equated by calculating these specific searches each month per 1,00,000.
