Moj Announces #MojSuperstarHunt & Virtual Avatar ‘Mast Moji’ On Its 1st Anniversary

It’s been a year since the popular Chinese short-video app got banned in India. This ban did create some controversies but it is safe to say that the void created by the chinese app has been fulfilled by homegrown apps that were launched after the ban.
Among so many short-video platforms launched, Moj has emerged as the market leader with close to 300 million downloads. Not only the downloads, but Moj is also ahead of other competitors in terms of million monthly active users (MAUs).

Reasons why Moj has been grabbing attention

There are multiple reasons why Moj attracted creators, audiences and brands. The number one being associating with popular faces like Shahnaz Gill, Mukti Mohan, Irfan Pathan, Rishabh Pant, Vijay Deverakonda & Ananya Pandey as their brand ambassadors. Having such variety in the brand ambassadors made sure that Moj attracted the target audience perfectly.

2. Viral trends


The success of short video platforms is hugely dependent on viral trends and Moj proved its worth in this also as the platform gave multiple viral trends throughout the year. The most trending #MojTrends were: #MojPeMoj (2.3bn views), #MojWithRitviz (1.8bn views) and #MojHoliLeague (2.1bn views) along with some brand associated ones like #YehHoliFantaWali (1.7bn views) & #CoolieNo1 (30mn views). These numbers clearly prove the success of Moj.

Celebrating the first anniversary with creative initiatives

On the completion of its successful first year, Moj has rolled out a special birthday Lens with its 3D avatar ‘Mast Moji’. Creators are posting fun videos using this virtual avatar while dancing to the catchy tune of Moj Pe Moj and Bete Moj Kardi.

Not only this, Moj has announced the #MojSuperstarHunt with an initiative of finding remarkable talent amongst the most original and outstanding content creators across India in five categories – Acting, Dance, Comedy, Transition, and Unique Talent.

As a part of this initiative, popular Moj influencers such as Arishfa Khan, Jannat Zubair, Riyaz Aly, Ammuz Amrutha, Mabu, Pranavi Manukonda have been assigned as the mentors.

Not only this, #MojSuperstarHunt will be hosted by Moj’s top influencer Awez Darbar and the grand finale will have famed choreographer-director Remo D’Souza as the judge. The talent search will begin on 15th July 2021 and the grand finale has been finalised on 31st August 2021.

The best part is that winners will not only get recognition but the top five winners (one from each category) will be awarded Rs. 5 lakh rupees. Out of these five, one superstar will be crowned and will get a total of 10 lakh rupees. Exciting! isn’t it?
