The growing startup culture in India with the freshness of ideas and approach has made it impossible for celebrities to not invest in them.

These are the leading Bollywood actresses from the Indian Film industry that have invested in an array of startups.

Deepika Padukone

Bollywood

In 2019, Deepika Padukone invested in the yogurt company Epigamia. For her recent investments, the actress invested in the learning and community platform FrontRow. Joining by marquee investors like Lightspeed and Elevation Capital (SAIF Partners) to invest $3.2 million in the startup.

Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif has invested an undisclosed amount in fashion and beauty e-commerce platform Nykaa. Last year, Katrina had launched her own beauty line, Kay Beauty, on Nykaa. Earlier in March, Nykaa had raised ₹100 crores from existing investor Steadview Capital. It again raised ₹67 crores from Steadview Capital in May.

Alia Bhatt

As disclosed last month, Alia Bhatt has made a personal investment in leading omnichannel lifestyle retailer, Nykaa via a secondary transaction for an undisclosed amount.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently turned angel investor in an investment with her mother, Vrinda KR. The duo invested ₹ 50 Lakh each in Bengaluru-based environmental intelligence startup Ambee.

Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit has recently invested in Vishal Gondal’s wearable technology startup, GOQii. The company focuses on wearable fitness technology and personal fitness training for its customers.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra

Shilpa Shetty Kundra had invested ₹1.6 crores in the FMCG startup Mamaearth which produces and sells skincare, haircare, and babycare products. Mamaearth was founded by Varun and Ghazal Alagh in 2015. She has also invested in Group Home Buyers, marking it as her first real estate investment.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has invested in alternate college education startup Holberton School and dating app Bumble. San Francisco-based Holberton School was founded in 2015 by Julien Barbier, Rudy Rigot, and Sylvain Kalache as a project-based alternative to college for the next generation of software engineers. Bumble was founded by Whitney Wolfe Herd in ‎December 2011 and is targeting the female audience in which Priyanka made an investment in 2018.
