Pinterest Lens Now Allows Its Users To Add A Photo To Any Text Search

| Published on November 26, 2017

Pinterest has come up with a new feature for its users with which they will be able to search any outfit by adding an image to the text in the search query. For example, instead of typing ripped jeans in the search column you can combine the photo of a popular celebrity with the search term or click a photo from your closet and help Pinterest to show more relevant results.

Pinterest visual search head Jeff Harris said about this new feature “Images are the main way we communicate with our pinners, and it’s also sort of the main way pinners communicate with us. Whether you’re shopping or paying or scrolling for something, all that info is teaching us the kinds of things you’re interested in, and we’re using that to help you find stuff that you really love.”

All this is a part of a move for Pinterest to start knowing the behavior of users on searching for ideas or products on Pinterest to the real world and making the users connect to their social network by using the real world things too.

This is a big news for the advertisers too as this will bring better user engagement on Pinterest and brands can take the advantage by creating such ads that can help them increase sales through this new technology. It has also been decided that Pinterest is also adding 5 million of more shoppable products to its shop and look category only to help the users get a wide range of variety and make them buy what they actually want.

Such additions to websites like Pinterest make them more favorable for users and people will get addicted to such features in the coming future.
