| Published on October 15, 2019

According to the reports, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi who made it big with its Redmi Note series in India will most likely discontinue its successful series after the Redmi Note 8 Pro launch.

Xiaomi Can Shut Down Redmi Note Series Forever

No More Redmi Notes: No Redmi Note 9, No Redmi Note 9 Pro

It was only recently that the smartphone giant unveiled its Redmi Note 8 series. While the company is prepping up to launch the much-awaited Note 8 Pro in the country later this week, it will launch Redmi Note 8 later making the two the last of the Redmi Note smartphones.

Xiaomi was also found to be working on a new Redmi smartphone, Redmi Note 8T, which may now be the last Redmi Note smartphone in production.

But, Why Xiaomi Is Calling Off Redmi Note Series?

As per the reports, Xiaomi is planning to revamp its lineup in the country and other global markets which includes its most popular and successful Redmi Note series.

The reports also hint at Redmi Note lineup being called off and given a fresh start, basically a complete reset.

Instead of Redmi Note smartphones, Xiaomi is supposedly bringing back the Mi Note series later next year. So this would push the Note smartphones to go under the main Xiaomi brand, and not Redmi. A few reports also state that the launch of MI Note series may happen by the end of this year.

Reset Or Cancellation: Is Xiaomi Resetting Redmi Note Lineup Or It’s Being Called Off?

It is possible that Xiaomi is working to revamp the Redmi Note lineup against the growing competition, or it’s just resetting the whole series for a fresh restart because let’s not forget that Redmi is a separate entity now which works independently.

Another reason could be competition with its arch-rival Realme who has been very aggressive about its line-up and series of smartphones which is why Xiaomi is clearing up things for a headstart and bring in better devices to take up the competition hands-on.

Lastly, Xiaomi India has a wide line-up in the country with a good number of smartphones ranging from the budget range to the entry premium segment and with the Redmi Note series, Xiaomi could possibly be looking to give Redmi a more premium push in the budget phone segment.
