It wasn’t very long back that India had Flipkart introduce it’s membership programme called ‘Flipkart Plus’ to compete against Amazon prime.
Well, well, well. We have a new market player to give both of the above a tough competition. Paytm is in the business.
Paytm, a leading mobile wallet application in India, has rolled out its premium subscription plan called ‘Paytm first’
“We are super excited to launch “Paytm First”, a premium subscription-based rewards & loyalty program for our users. With this, we are offering exclusive benefits, over and above our regular offers,” the company says in the press statement
How much is it going to cost you?
It costs you ₹750 for one year (cheaper than Amazon prime) and they have a cashback scheme in place as well. For the first 1500 subscribers, a cashback of ₹100 is planned. So that makes it ₹650 for a limited time period. However, it is currently available only for Android users. Don’t worry iOS users, the membership offer will be rolled out for you, within a few days!
What do you get in return?
Honestly, a lot. Firstly, a ₹100 cashback on movie ticket bookings, once per month via the Paytm app. Along with that, this offers annual subscriptions to Gaana, Sony Liv and Eros Now. To add on, there is a Zomato Gold membership in place as well. There would be Uber benefits up to ₹6000 and Ubereats benefits up to ₹2400 as well.
Moreover, as any subscription would go, Paytm first allows customers to get access to special Paytm Mall offers, unlimited and free shipping and 24*7 customer service availability. Customer retention, increasing customer base and challenging competitive markets seem to be a few reasons behind this new initiative and game plan by Paytm.
It will, however, take a few months before understanding how impactful the mighty plan has been!
