The trend of converting weddings of popular celebrities into promotional campaigns is at its peak. Brands make creative posts for wishing them which indirectly gives information about their products too. But, Amazon has chosen something different for the wedding of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, who is all set to get married to American singer Nick Jonas next month, has shared a list of items which she wants as wedding gifts from her guests. Her wishlist has been shared on e-commerce site Amazon as Priyanka Chopra’s wedding registry.

Priyanka took to her Instagram to share her wedding list saying: “I’m very excited to begin this new chapter in my life and I’ve selected some of my favorite items to inspire you during yours. I am also so happy that Amazon is making a $100,000 donation to UNICEF, an organization that I hold close to my heart.”

She not only collaborated with Amazon to create a perfect gift guide for other brides planning weddings of their own but also to continue her work supporting UNICEF.

I had so much fun building a wedding registry guide with @amazon. They have everything that you need in one place! Amazon has also made a $100,000 donation to UNICEF, a charity that is extremely important to me!!! The estimated total cost of the products in this list is around $14,000 with products ranging from Canon IVY Wireless Mini Photo Printer, a $ 2,500 LG OLED TV, and Amazon Echo Look.

When everyone is busy at having a look at what she wants, we believe that this is a smart move by Amazon to promote its wedding registry option in India. Adding to your knowledge, the concept of having a wedding or bridal registry is popular in the US and Europe, as it makes it easier for guests to buy gifts while the couple gets what they want. Such lists are usually shared either by the host or the retailer to guests. In India, this feature is very less known and with celebrity as famous as Priyanka using it can make a big difference in the popularity of Amazon wedding registry.

Seeing the popularity of Priyanka and the craze of her wedding among fans, we can just guess how much people will come to know about this service just because of a single post. This is another great example of how marketing has evolved in all these years and fresh ideas are used to make the most of curiosity of audience to turn them into buyers laters.
