Ben Rolleston has joined Amazon as Head of Prime APAC, where he has taken responsibility for leading the company’s Prime business across the Asia-Pacific region.
Rolleston has shared the appointment through a LinkedIn update, announcing that he has started the new role at Amazon.
Prior to this appointment, Rolleston has served as Head of APAC Enterprise Business Development at Amazon from September 2025 to July 2026, where he led regional growth strategy for consumer and enterprise products across APAC. During the role, he launched Amazon’s first global enterprise SaaS offering in the region, developed partner-led go-to-market strategies, established the company’s first enterprise partnership with Foxtel Commercial, and worked closely with product and technology teams to align regional strategy and partner execution.
Alongside his corporate responsibilities, Rolleston has been serving as Chair of Surfing NSW since July 2022. In the part-time position, he has overseen strategic planning, government engagement, commercial strategy, funding programmes and community participation initiatives while supporting high-performance talent development and Olympic pathways.
Between May 2025 and July 2025, he also worked as a Strategy, Commercial and Digital Consultant at Nine, where he reviewed the company’s audio business, identified monetisation opportunities, developed subscription strategies, evaluated podcast production operations and defined content commissioning strategies.
Earlier, Rolleston spent more than three years at Audible. From April 2022 to April 2025, he served as Country Manager and Managing Director for Audible Australia, leading the Australian business with responsibility for revenue growth, marketing, content commissioning, product innovation, AI implementation, licensing, distribution and leadership. During the same period, from April 2022 to February 2025, he also served as a Board Member at Audible.
Before joining Audible, Rolleston worked at Amazon as Head of Sales and Business Development – Alexa ANZ from January 2018 to April 2022. In the role, he led third-party partnerships for Echo, Fire TV and Alexa, launched Alexa across Australia and New Zealand, developed more than 100 SaaS partnerships with Australian brands, expanded connected home initiatives and drove voice strategy across sports, media and commerce.
Prior to Amazon, he spent over six years at Viacom International Media Networks Australia and New Zealand as Vice President, Commercial and Content Distribution from August 2011 to December 2017. There, he managed commercial revenue and content distribution for MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central while leading digital product development, OTT partnerships, content licensing and international commercial strategy.
From May 2007 to July 2011, Rolleston worked at Singtel Optus as Group Manager – TV and Video. He led the company’s digital content, IPTV and video strategy, managed Optus TV, negotiated major content partnerships and oversaw live streaming and broadcasting initiatives, including the FIFA World Cup and Australian Open.
Earlier in his career, he served as General Manager – Player Services and Operations at the Rugby Union Players Association from September 2003 to May 2007, where he led negotiations with governing bodies on player rights, sponsorship, digital media and welfare. He also played a key role in developing the world’s first Player Agent Accreditation Scheme in rugby.
Rolleston began his corporate career as Legal Counsel at APN News & Media, where he worked from 2000 to 2003, providing legal support across the company’s publishing, broadcasting, digital and media businesses.
