Cipla has appointed Achin Gupta as Managing Director and Global Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2026. Following his appointment, the company has categorised Saurabh Gambhir and Satyavan Manikani as Senior Management Personnel (SMP), both reporting directly to Gupta.
The company has also confirmed that Umang Vohra has completed his tenure as Managing Director and Global CEO on March 31, 2026, and has resigned as Director of the company with effect from April 1, 2026.
Saurabh Gambhir has been serving as Head – Strategy and M&A (Global) at Cipla and has been responsible for strategic planning, inorganic growth opportunities, and transformation initiatives. Prior to Cipla, he has held leadership roles at Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Intas Pharmaceuticals, and IMS Health (now IQVIA), focusing on portfolio strategy, marketing, and business development.
Satyavan Manikani has been serving as Chief Portfolio Head (Global) at Cipla. He joined the company in February 2022 and has been leading portfolio strategy for the Indian market, including therapy area expansion and product launches. Prior to Cipla, he has worked with USV Limited, Gufic Biosciences, Alkem Labs, and Ranbaxy Laboratories.
