Adobe has announced that CEO Shantanu Narayen will transition from the role after a successor has been appointed. Narayen has served as the company’s chief executive for 18 years and will continue to remain Chair of the Board.
The company’s Board of Directors has initiated the process to identify Narayen’s successor and has formed a special committee to oversee the search. The committee has been chaired by Frank Calderoni, who will lead the evaluation of both internal and external candidates.
The leadership transition process has begun while Narayen continues to serve as CEO to ensure continuity during the succession planning period.
“On behalf of the Board, I want to recognize Shantanu’s contributions as CEO and architect of Adobe’s transformation over the past 18 years, and for positioning Adobe for success in the AI-driven era,” said Frank Calderoni, Lead Independent Director of Adobe. “As we take the next step in succession planning, we are focused on selecting the right leader for this next exciting chapter of the company’s growth and are grateful for Shantanu’s continued leadership as CEO to ensure a smooth transition.”
