Pieter Elbers has stepped down from InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo), where he most recently served as Chief Executive Officer since September 2022. He will be relieved from the service of the company effective close of business hours on March 10, 2026.
In the interim, Rahul Bhatia will assume management of the airline’s affairs until the company announces a new CEO.
Elbers cited personal reasons for his resignation and requested that his notice period be waived. He offered to be available for any handover or transition if the company so desires.
The Board of Directors acknowledged Elbers’ resignation in a meeting held on March 10, 2026, which commenced at 1730 hours (IST) and concluded at 1745 hours (IST). The Board thanked him for his contribution and service to the organization.
