Specta Quartz Surfaces has unveiled the newest edition of its campaign ‘Stories Cast in Stone’, featuring acclaimed sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik. Known for transforming the beaches of Puri into striking canvases for social and environmental messages, Pattnaik’s journey embodies how art can transcend boundaries and inspire change.
In the campaign film, Pattnaik reflects on his early years in Puri, Odisha, where he discovered his creative expression using only sand as his medium. Limited by resources but driven by imagination, he began shaping small figures on the beach an effort that soon evolved into elaborate sculptures attracting national and international attention. His art, often themed around peace, climate action, and social awareness, has since earned him recognition on global platforms.
The ‘Stories Cast in Stone’ campaign draws parallels between Pattnaik’s craft and the brand’s philosophy both rooted in transforming natural elements into enduring works of art. Previous chapters have featured creative figures such as Masaba Gupta, Ranveer Brar, and Joseph Radhik.

From creating masterpieces that wash away with each tide to leaving behind enduring messages of hope, his story mirrors the transformative spirit of Specta. It is a reminder that great art, like great design, doesn’t just beautify—it inspires, uplifts, and endures.”
