Elon Musk has launched a campaign urging his 227 million X followers to cancel Netflix, citing concerns over the streaming service’s content and what he describes as an anti-white hiring bias.
Over the past three days, Musk has posted or reposted attacks on Netflix at least 26 times, targeting both its programming and business practices.
The billionaire, whose net worth is estimated at around $500 billion, has said he has already cancelled his own subscription and encouraged others to follow suit. On 1 October, he wrote, “Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids,” quoting a meme that portrayed Netflix’s “transgender woke agenda” as a Trojan horse invading “your kids.”
Netflix has not responded to Musk’s campaign. With the company no longer reporting subscriber numbers quarterly, the impact of his call for a boycott may be difficult to assess.
