Unny Radhakrishnan has announced that he will step down as Chief Executive Officer of Digitas India at the end of September, concluding a five-and-a-half-year stint with the agency and its parent group, Publicis.
He shared the news via a LinkedIn update.
In his note, Radhakrishnan reflected on leadership as a constant learning journey about people, perspectives, and how to bring diverse talents together to achieve what individuals cannot do alone. He spoke about the emotional landscape of the workplace, highlighting the importance of understanding the context people come from and supporting them in doing great work. He shared that what he cherished most was building a culture that prioritised ‘great work and great people to work with’ over just being labeled a’great place to work.’ He thanked the team at Digitas India and Publicis Groupe India for making the journey meaningful.
Prior to Digitas, Radhakrishnan was Chief People and Business Officer at Sheroes from April 2019 to March 2020. He also worked as a consultant from June 2018 to March 2019, including a role at the WPP CSR Foundation between October 2018 and February 2019.
Earlier, he spent nearly a decade at GroupM agencies, serving as Chief Digital Officer – South Asia at Wavemaker (April 2015 to February 2018), Head of Digital – South Asia at Maxus (January 2012 to March 2015), and National Director at Maxus (January 2008 to December 2011). He also held the role of Business Director – Digital across Maxus and MediaCom from May 2007 to December 2007.
