Suraja Kishore, CEO of BBDO India, has stepped down from his role after six years at the helm.
Kishore confirmed his exit to Marketing Mind, stating that he is not moving on but moving forward.
“You can’t quit a culture! You take the culture forward. BBDO is not a company; it’s a culture with its own tribe! Nurturing and growing this tribe has been one of the most fulfilling experiences. I have always chosen people over company. In the past it was my desire to work with Balki and Prasoon that had me at McCann and Lowe,” he said.v
“Post-McCann, I chose Josy, and we have had a wonderful intuitive partnership. We made BBDO India the best office with a ‘people-first-creative-culture’ across BBDO Asia offices. We scored some wonderful clients and created campaigns that have defined industry benchmarks. I am not moving on from here; rather, I am moving forward with a huge sense of discovery,” he added.
Furthermore, he mentioned that to borrow from Proust – the real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but seeing with new eyes, and to get those new eyes one needs to break away from the land one belongs to.
Kishore, who has served as the CEO of BBDO India since 2019, played a pivotal role in shaping the agency’s creative vision and strategic direction. Prior to his role at BBDO India, he held significant positions at McCann Worldgroup, Publicis Groupe, Lowe Lintas and Mudra Communications.
