The ‘Badshah’ of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is turning 59 today, and to celebrate his birthday Marketing Mind has put together a list of brands that he has endorsed. The King Khan has been associated with brands like Castrol, D’Decor, Thums Up, Myntra, and many more. .

From his beginnings on television to becoming a favourite on the big screen, Shah Rukh Khan’s journey from Bollywood to global stardom has captivated the hearts of millions. Known as the King of Romance, he has starred in numerous films that have cemented his large fan base and is celebrating his 59th birthday this year. However, his talent extends beyond romance; he has embraced roles, from comedy to action-packed thrillers and light-hearted dramas, over the course of his career.

The hero has captured the attention of fans in classics like ‘Darr’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Karan Arjun’, and continued to spread his mojo and spark into the 2000s with timeless pieces including ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’, and ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’. His versatility shines through in roles ranging from impeccable comic timing in ‘Chennai Express’ to his charming portrayal in ‘Love You Zindagi’.

SRK has long been one of the most sought-after names in the world of brand endorsements. From performances in films like ‘My Name Is Khan’ to recent hits like ‘Jawan’, ‘Pathaan’, and ‘Dunki’, he has constantly shown his versatility with a wide range of roles. His popularity has made him a fit for many brands, including UltraTech Cement, Joy Personal Care, Castrol, and Kansai Nerolac Paints.

Over time, SRK has collaborated with many brands from a multitude of sectors including FMCG, automobile, fashion, beauty, and tech-based companies. Moreover, he has ranked third on the Kroll ‘Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2023, with a brand value of $120.7 million. He has been associated with brands such as Frooti, Hyundai, Denver, Reliance Jio, and others. To celebrate the birthday of King  Khan, Marketing Mind has prepared a list into his brand endorsement journey over the years.

Castrol

Castrol, a subsidiary of the bp Group and a company in lubricants, appointed SRK as its brand ambassador earlier this year. As per the company, over the next two years, he will feature in digital, print, and TV campaigns for bp and Castrol, showcasing its range of products.

In a glamorous and amusing campaign, Khan is seen driving a fast car equipped with Castrol EDGE. The ad shows how the actor speeds by paparazzi so fast that no one can click his pictures. Frustrated by the same, paps ask him to let them click one image of him, in his signature charm and comic style SRK allows them to click his image but he again zooms by from in front of them.

Hyundai

Hyundai India extended its contract with King Khan as the company’s corporate brand ambassador in 2017. He has been associated with the car company for over two decades.

In an ad campaign, SRK drives a Hyundai ALCAZAR and picks up a team of young athletes who are all wearing the Indian jersey. They are dazzled when they see none other than Devdas superstar himself driving the car.

Sunfeast Dark Fantasy

In 2023, Sunfeast Dark Fantasy by ITC named SRK its new ambassador. In a campaign #FantasyOfEveryHeart that is loaded with his charismatic style, he helps a woman put on her makeup and get ready as she sits and waits in a beauty parlour.

Everest Spices

In an ad for the company’s product ‘Everest Tikhalal’ Khan is seen in a conversation with actor Amitabh Bachchan where they go back and forth about who is the ‘Sahi Tikha’ and who is ‘Sahi Lal’. With perfectly timed comedy and the actors’ flair the campaign is both witty and brilliant.

Frooti

In 2013, the beverages brand Frooti named Veer-Zara star as its brand ambassador, following which he featured in multiple ads for the brand. In an ad campaign, SRK stands in front of a door which says ‘Life’ behind which there is a glimpse of the boring life that he will lead if he chooses that door. But then a kid dressed as a monk comes up to him and offers him ‘The Frooti Life’, upon entering the Frooti Life SRK dances to the rhythm of ‘Choos The Mango’.

Denver

In an ad for Denver, the King Khan of Bollywood exudes his signature style and charm. The commercial showcases him in a powerful and elegant setting, where he embodies sophistication. The ad concludes with him saying, “Scent of My Success”, leaving a lasting impression that ties his success to the fragrance.

Reliance Jio

In 2015, Reliance Jio roped in SRK as its brand ambassador and later featured in an ad campaign for the brand. In the campaign, the actor shows how people think over many times before making a purchase be it for clothing, automobile or electronic. He then emphasises that, in the same way, no one should compromise when selecting a SIM card.

UltraTech Cement

In a campaign ‘Banega Toh Badhega India’ for UltraTech Cement, Khan brings a series of stories with the message of how the growth of India’s infrastructure brings some personal wins for individuals. For instance, in the ad he narrates how the construction of a metro line brings a father home to his kids, the building of roads can bring education to a small village, and so on.

Muthoot Pappachan Group

Muthoot Pappachan Group (MPG), also known as Muthoot Blue, onboarded Khan as its brand ambassador in 2024. Later, as a part of his association with the company, he featured in an ad where young adults ponder on taking out gold loans for various reasons. In each of their conversations, he pops up to remind them that the process can be simplified- by just giving a “missed call”. His presence not only adds a touch of confidence to the ad, but also delivers the required message in his easy-going style.

D’Decor

With the launch of its in-house brand Fabicare, D’Decor came out with an ad film created by 82.5 Communications. In the ad, SRK faces off against thugs who have broken into his home, but rather than being worried about the fight, he’s more concerned about them dirtying his furniture. As he humorously tries to convince them not to ruin his sofa, actress Alia Bhatt steps in, telling him to focus on chasing them away, reassuring him that the stains can easily be cleaned. The exchange adds a fun twist to the scene, blending humour with action.

Thums Up

In 2022, Thums Up partnered with Khan, to present the #ThumsUpStrong platform. Conceptualised by Ogilvy, a campaign featured the actor in a theatre like setting where his movie is being screened. In the movie he is seen in an action-packed scene on a moving train, the ad ends with him in his deep-set voice saying “Soft Drink Nahin, Toofan”.

Godrej magic

In 2022, Godrej Consumer Products named the Bollywood actor as their brand ambassador for Godrej magic body wash. Following his appointment, SRK featured in an ad campaign for the product where he showcases the product in his signature charming style. The ad highlights the convenience and eco-friendliness of the body wash.

realme

realme brought on Khan as its new brand ambassador in India in 2023. In a campaign for the brand, SRK highlights the realme 11 Pro Series 5G and emphasises on the “SRK Dare To Leap” in the fast moving life. He narrates his own big leaps of life including him moving from actor to producer, from King of Romance to action hero, and more.

Myntra

In 2024, Myntra appointed Shah Rukh Khan as its brand ambassador, following which he featured in their fashion-forward ad campaign that said “Trend IRL”. In the ad, Khan is seen dressing up in “dashing” outfits for his office, and his sharp look inspires a colleague to copy his style.

Joy Personal Care

Joy Personal Care, an Indian home-grown personal care brand, roped in Khan as the brand ambassador for the face wash category of Joy Personal Care. In an ad for JOY Lemon Face Wash, Khan stars alongside actress Sanya Malhotra, as the duo highlights what truly matters to a woman and how to win over her heart, bringing a refreshing twist to skin care.

Kansai Nerolac Paints

Khan was appointed as the brand ambassador of Kansai Nerolac Paints in 2013. In his association of over a decade, he has featured in many advertisements for the brand. From festive marketing to witty and humour-filled ads, SRK has been the face of numerous campaigns for the brand. In a Diwali ad, he surprises a family by joining in to help paint their home. With paintbrushes in hand, he bonds with children, creating a fun and festive atmosphere while painting their home together.
