Prime Video To Include Ads In Shows & Movies In India From 2025

Starting in 2025, Prime Video shows and movies will include limited advertisements in India. Additionally, the platform will also offer a new ad-free option and will share the price of that option at a later date.

The platform, with limited ads, aims to have meaningfully fewer ads than linear TV and other streaming TV providers. It also clarified that they are not making changes in 2025 to the current price of Prime membership.

Prime members will receive mail from the platform, several weeks before ads are introduced into Prime Video with information on how to sign up for the ad-free option if they would like. Meanwhile, these changes will not have any impact on ‘Prime Lite’ subscribers, who have access to Prime Video’s full library of content, on any single device (TV or mobile) in 720p High-Definition with ads.

Additionally, members can also earn unlimited 2% reward points on payments at 100 plus Amazon Pay partner merchants and 1% reward points on all other payments, across 35 cities in India. Also, live event content such as sports will continue to include advertising.
