The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has set the base price of media rights to the Asia Cup at $170 million which would include events from both women’s and men’s tournaments.
As per reports, the e-auction will be held on November 1, 2024. The interested broadcasters have been asked to submit their technical bids in Dubai on October 30.
The rights will comprise global television, digital, and audio rights of events including- Women’s Asia Cup, Women’s Under-19 Asia Cup, Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup, Men’s Asia Cup, Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup, and Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
Moreover, the rights will encompass the period from 2024 to 2031. With this, to clarify further, the Men’s Asia Cup Tournament of 2025, 2027, 2029, and 2031 would be conducted during the rights period.
The next edition of its flagship event, Men’s Asia Cup, which is to be held in 2025 will take place in India in T20 format, the reports stated. This will be followed by Bangladesh (ODI format), Pakistan (T20 format) and Sri Lanka (ODI format), respectively.
