The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been resonating with the spirit of India since 2008. With its own loyal fan base, the country has found segregations through its teams like the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).

To endorse every season, the Indian viewers have seen various ads over the years. Some of them were too hilarious to be true and kept all of us entertained for the longest time. Here’s looking back at these commercials.

Manoranjan Ka Baap (2008)

Kickstarting the first ever IPL, DLF decided to feature a rather cinematic approach. With a family of two kids named Mano and Ranjan who lived with their single mother, villagers criticised them by asking when will their father (baap) come along? Fearing this, the mother tried to end her life only for her children to stop her because ManoRanjan ka baap had finally arrived! Here’s bringing to your screen, the first ever IPL.

Bharat Band (2011)

While Set Max broadcasted the IPL season of 2011, Bharat Band brought to light how important cricket was to India and hence a band or strike should be declared to inaugurate the IPl season. They definitely did a few better campaigns throughout the years.

Aisa Mauka Aur Kaha Milega (2012)

True to its theme, DLF IPL was like a breath of fresh air reminding Indians that they’ll never get an opportunity as magnanimous as this. Cricket is one sport that unites everyone and thks campaign features 4 short films leading to the grand unveiling of the IPL season.

Come On Bulawa Aaya Hai (2014)

2014 was one of the greatest years for IPL. Featuring an energetic commercial stating ‘Come on Bulaawa Aaya Hai’, this commercial was brought out by 2 phases that also included the tour of the entire country. It portrayed how the IPL helped people bring life to their mundane schedules and start something afresh.

India Ka Tyohaar (2015)

Despite India being knocked of the ICC World Cup 2015, the country managed to sail through the storm with this inspirational and energetic commercial. India Ka Tyohaar brought out the feelings of festive joy for all Indians, which gave them a reason to stay strong and support their favourite cricketers in the Indian version of cricket.

Which of these was your favourite?
